Welcome! My name is Samela Dorey. I love designing and creating beautifully handcrafted artisan jewelry & wearable art for all to enjoy and treasure. Although my love of jewelry goes back to my childhood days, I have only been designing & creating since 2002, and have immensely loved it, and will continue to do so. I also enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, and four wheeling with my husband of 39 years. I live in a small desert community, in Southern California, surrounded by beautiful mountains and awesome sunsets. Born and raised here, this has always been home. The air is clean, the sun almost always shines, and the sky is always blue. The desert wildflowers are abundant in Spring, especially after a good Spring rain, with a wide variety of gorgeous colors. I love the colors of the desert, I guess that is why I love the beauty of gemstones. The colors of all things natural. Greens, browns, blues, purples, and all the shades in between. If you look closely you will find all the colors of the palette in the desert. I guess you can say that the desert is my inspiration for my creations. I feel like sterling silver and gemstones are a natural match for each other, with each bringing out the best in the other. Kind of like the perfect marriage. I am also the store manager of the Spirited Bead & Klew’s Gallery here in Ridgecrest. It is a job that is more like a hobby than a job,
I love it. I also teach classed there, from the very basic for the
